Ogun First Lady underscores importance of care and welfare of children with special needs

The need for the care and welfare of children with special needs has again been emphasized.
This emphasis came from the wife of the Ogun state governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun while celebrating her birthday  with pupils of the schools for children with special needs, GRA, Sagamu and Ijebu Ode.

She stated that the children should not be treated less and that they also have right to quality life as with other children adding that it was obligatory for governments and individuals to to look into the needs of the children and help to address them.

She encouraged the children to continue to cooperate with their teachers and caregivers in their studies and vocation as education is key in fulfilling their ambitions.

Mrs. Abiodun who cut her birthday cake with the children also presented gifts of food items, groceries and cash to them while singing and dancing with them.
The Permanent Secretary, Ogun state Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Oluola Aikulola earlier in his welcome address, appreciated Mrs. Abiodun for choosing to put smiles on the faces of the children on her special day rather than throwing elaborate party to entertain the privileged.
He requested the state to improve the facilities in the two schools and also assist in the area of personnel and social needs.

The head teachers of the two schools, Mrs. Meadows Jaiyeola of the Ijebu Ode School and Mrs. Remilekun Olaniyan of the Sagamu school in their vote of thanks expressed their joy at what they called magnanimity on the part of the wife of the governor saying that they had never witnessed such visit by any wife of the state governor.
