APC Begins 2027 Mobilisation in Obafemi Owode, Stakeholders Hold Strategic Meeting

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State has commenced strategic preparations for the 2027 general elections, with party leaders and stakeholders meeting to strengthen grassroots mobilisation across the 12 wards.

The strategic stakeholders’ meeting, held on Wednesday at the Local Government Secretariat, brought together prominent party leaders, elected representatives, ward leaders and other stakeholders to deliberate on the party’s mobilisation strategy and electoral structure ahead of the 2027 polls.

Speaking at the meeting, former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tunji Egbetokun, urged APC members to intensify their engagement at the grassroots and remain committed to the party’s mobilisation efforts.

Egbetokun stressed the importance of coordination across the wards and polling units, noting that every stakeholder has a role to play in strengthening the party ahead of the elections.

He said the party’s focus should be on improving its electoral performance while building on the results recorded in the 2023 general elections.

Also addressing the stakeholders, Engr. Babatunde Adesina called for greater commitment from party members, urging them to contribute their time, resources and experience towards the success of the mobilisation exercise.

He maintained that building a formidable electoral structure should not be left to candidates alone, but should be regarded as a collective responsibility of all party stakeholders.

The Senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, Sen. Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, commended the turnout of party leaders and members at the meeting.

Salisu described Obafemi Owode as an important part of the progressive political structure in Ogun State and recalled the contributions of past leaders to the growth of the party and the development of the state.

The senator also highlighted some of his legislative interventions and developmental initiatives at the National Assembly, assuring constituents of his continued commitment to legislation and the facilitation of development projects.

He urged party stakeholders to sustain their cooperation and support as the APC moves towards the 2027 general elections.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, said the council would strengthen its mobilisation efforts across the 12 wards.

Ogunsola also announced that the ward with the strongest electoral performance in the forthcoming elections would be recognised and rewarded by the Local Government.

He described Obafemi Owode as a historically important area in the electoral fortunes of the APC and challenged party stakeholders to work collectively towards improving the party’s performance in 2027.

He urged ward and polling-unit leaders to remain coordinated, committed and focused as preparations for the elections intensify.

Among those present at the meeting were Federal House of Representatives member, Rt. Hon. Olumide Osoba; Ogun State House of Assembly member, Hon. Soneye Damilola Kayode; Hon. Nike Osoba; Chief Olude; APC Local Government Chairman, Hon. Sofela, and other party leaders and stakeholders.
