Ogun to Disburse Community Investment Funds to 3,855 Women Groups Wednesday

ABEOKUTA — The Ogun State Government, through the Nigeria for Women Programme Scale-Up Project (NFWP-SU), will on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, commence the disbursement of Community Investment Funds (CIF) to 3,855 Women Affinity Groups (WAGs) across the four implementing Local Government Areas in the state.
The flag-off ceremony is scheduled to hold at the Awujale Pavilion, Ijebu-Ode, by 9:00 a.m.
A statement signed by the State Project Coordinator, Mrs. Bolanle Fadairo, said the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, will serve as the Chief Host of the event.
The ceremony is expected to attract representatives of the World Bank Team, the Federal Project Coordinating Unit, and officials of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, who will participate in the official presentation of cheques to beneficiaries under the Livelihood Support Component of the programme.
According to the statement, the disbursement is part of efforts under the NFWP-SU to provide women with access to financial literacy, entrepreneurship development, livelihood opportunities and other forms of economic support aimed at strengthening their financial capacity and enabling them to contribute more effectively to sustainable community development.
The programme will also provide an opportunity for the Federal and Ogun State Governments, the World Bank and other development partners to reaffirm their commitment to advancing women’s economic empowerment, livelihood development and participation in sustainable community development.
The State Project Coordinator urged beneficiaries, participating women and other invited stakeholders to be seated at the venue by 9:00 a.m. for the commencement of the event.
