Ogun Chief Urges Constituents to Support Senator Shuaib Salisu, Warns Against Short-Term Gains
A prominent community leader in Egba Abeokuta Area of Ogun State, Chief Charles Olusesi Adedotun Sobayo (JP), has called on the sons and daughters of Abeokuta to remain united and support their own Senator, Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, in the interest of the area’s long-term development and political relevance.
Chief Sobayo, who is the Seriki Keesi and Asiwaju Bada Egba, made the call in a message titled “A Note of Warning”, urging the people of Odeda to look beyond immediate benefits and consider the broader implications of their political choices.
According to him, the strength of a people is not measured by what they receive in the present, but by what they are able to build and secure for future generations.
He described Senator Shuaib Salisu as a representative of the people’s voice, identity and collective aspirations, stressing that sacrificing the mandate for short-term gains could undermine the long-term opportunities, development and influence available to Odeda.
“Let us rise above immediate gratification and stand firmly behind our own Senator Shuaib,” Chief Sobayo said.
He further urged the people to support Senator Salisu with loyalty and conviction, arguing that continuity in representation would help attract meaningful development and protect Odeda’s place in the political affairs of Ogun State and Nigeria.
Chief Sobayo appealed to the people to prioritise unity, vision and legacy over division and temporary interests.
“Together, let us choose legacy over loss, unity over division, and vision over vanity. Odeda must not miss its time,” he stated.
The community leader signed the message as Chief Charles Olusesi Adedotun Sobayo (JP), LL.B, MCTS, Seriki Keesi, Asiwaju Bada Egba.
