Adeyemo Returns from UK Working Visit, Attends International Security and Cyber Expos in London
Hon. Dr. Waliat Folasade Adeyemo, Executive Chairman of Odeda Local Government and Chairman of the Ogun State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), has returned to Nigeria after a five-day working visit to the United Kingdom.
Adeyemo was in London as an invited international delegate at the International Security Expo 2026 and International Cyber Expo 2026, held on September 29 and 30 at Olympia, London.
The invitation, extended by Figen Murray OBE, Chair of the International Security Expo, recognised Adeyemo as an international delegate and provided access to high-level engagements involving government representatives, law enforcement agencies, emergency services, transport and border authorities, critical national infrastructure stakeholders, as well as public and private-sector security professionals.
The International Security Expo brought together more than 10,000 professionals and over 300 exhibitors from across the global security industry, providing a platform for discussions on emerging security challenges, resilience, counter-terrorism, public safety and innovative security solutions.
Adeyemo also participated in engagements surrounding the International Cyber Expo, which focused on the growing convergence between physical security and cybersecurity and the need for stronger digital protection in an increasingly technology-driven world.
Her participation in the international events provided an opportunity to gain insights into global best practices in security, cybersecurity, emergency response and community resilience, with potential relevance to local government administration and grassroots development.
The UK working visit also offered Adeyemo an opportunity to engage with professionals and stakeholders on contemporary security and technology solutions that could inform future initiatives at the local government level.
Following the successful completion of the five-day working visit, Adeyemo has returned to Nigeria and is expected to bring the knowledge and experiences gained from the international engagements to bear on her responsibilities as Executive Chairman of Odeda Local Government and Chairman of Ogun State ALGON.
