Senator Adeola “Yayi” Condemns Supporters’ Attacks on Political Officeholders

Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Ogun West) has issued a stern warning to his supporters over recent derogatory media attacks against political officeholders in Ogun State, disassociating himself from such actions.
The senator, popularly known as Yayi, expressed deep concern over statements made by a group and individuals allegedly defending him in response to a media chat by a public official. He clarified that these supporters had no mandate from him to engage in personal attacks.
“I am greatly disturbed by the derogatory media attacks in some online and social media platforms against a honourable member of the parliament by individuals or groups ostensibly acting to support or defend me. I have not authorized anyone to attack anyone on my behalf. I completely disassociate myself from such acts, as they do not align with my style of politics or governance,” Senator Adeola stated.
The lawmaker, who serves as the leader of the Ogun State Caucus in the National Assembly, emphasized that while he appreciates the support of his followers, he will not tolerate abusive or divisive rhetoric. He reaffirmed his commitment to cooperative governance, working alongside Governor Dapo Abiodun, fellow lawmakers, and other stakeholders to advance development in Ogun State under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Let all my supporters know that I have not mandated them to attack anyone on my behalf. I believe in inclusive politics and will never shut the door on perceived opponents or fellow party members, as they may become allies in the future. There is no division among us when it comes to delivering development for our people,” he added.
Senator Adeola urged his supporters and affiliated groups to refrain from further attacks, stressing that his political approach prioritizes constructive engagement over hostility.
The statement was signed by Chief Kayode Odunaro, Media Adviser to Senator Adeola.
