Senator Adeola Defends Projects as Effective Representation, Slams PDP’s Criticism

...Ogun West Senator Reaffirms Commitment to Constituency Development

The Media Office of Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Ogun West) and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations has responded to the Ogun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over its criticism of the distribution of 102 transformers to 435 Community Development Areas across the state.

In a press statement signed by Chief Kayode Odunaro, Media Adviser to Senator Adeola, the lawmaker dismissed PDP’s claims as politically motivated, insisting that his projects and empowerment initiatives are part of his constitutional mandate and not personal favours.

The statement read: “The crux of PDP’s whimpering on this laudable initiative has nothing to do with its intrinsic value to millions of Ogun State indigenes but on some egoistic calculations devoid of addressing societal challenges.”

Senator Adeola emphasised that all his projects are clearly labelled as “facilitated” efforts, tied to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and complementing the developmental strides of Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun. He noted that project signposts and banners prominently feature the trio of the President, the Governor, and himself, reinforcing their collaborative governance approach.

The statement further rebuked the PDP for what it described as “a total misrepresentation of glaring facts,” adding that the opposition party failed to deliver similar projects during its time in government.

“Senator Adeola owes no apology to any opposition figure or party whose previous participation in government has not addressed these societal challenges in any appreciable way as he is now doing,” the statement asserted.

The Media Office praised the Senator for his strategic facilitation of projects, including the 102 transformers, which it described as proof of “effective representation.” It challenged the PDP to ensure its own representatives deliver tangible benefits to their constituents rather than attempting to discredit achievements.

The statement concluded with a reaffirmation of Senator Adeola’s commitment to Ogun West and Ogun State’s inclusion in the national budget, vowing to continue defending allocations and ensuring effective implementation in line with President Tinubu’s vision.

“Senator Adeola will continue to fight for Ogun West and Ogun State’s inclusion in the national budget, defend its allocations, and follow through with effective implementation to address the needs of the people,” the statement read.
