Governor Dapo Abiodun’s Wife, Bamidele, Celebrates Milestone as Family, Dignitaries Shower Her with Love

It was a day of joy, heartfelt tributes and thanksgiving as the First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, celebrated her 60th birthday in grand style, with family, friends, government officials and political leaders gathering to honour her remarkable life and legacy.

The colourful Diamond Jubilee thanksgiving service, held at the Government House Chapel, Oke-Igbein, Abeokuta, was filled with praise, prayers and emotional moments as guests celebrated the woman many described as compassionate, humble and deeply committed to humanitarian service.

Leading the tributes was her husband, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who poured out his heart in a touching message, describing his wife as his greatest supporter, a woman of virtue and unwavering faith, whose love and sacrifices have remained the backbone of their family and his journey in public service.

Recalling how their love story began nearly 39 years ago, the governor reminisced about travelling from Ife to Ibadan just to spend time with the woman who would later become his life partner.

“Neither of us imagined that God would one day make us the First Family of Ogun State. Looking back today, I can only thank God for preserving us and blessing us with a beautiful family,” the governor said.

The celebration became even more emotional as the First Lady reflected on her six decades of life, describing the milestone as a reminder of God’s faithfulness and a renewed call to serve humanity with greater dedication.

Mrs. Abiodun expressed gratitude to God for His mercy throughout her life’s journey, pledging to expand her humanitarian efforts and continue championing causes that uplift women, children and vulnerable members of society.

The event attracted an array of distinguished guests who took turns celebrating the First Lady’s impact.

Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, praised her steadfast support for the governor, noting that behind every successful leader is a dependable partner.

Former Commissioner for Women Affairs and APC House of Representatives candidate for Remo Federal Constituency, Hon. Funmi Afuwape, described the celebrant as a humble mentor whose passion for empowering others has transformed countless lives.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Adebimpe Folusho Obienu, applauded the First Lady’s compassion for women, children and vulnerable citizens, while Mrs. Peace Taiwo described her as calm, gracious and kind-hearted.

Delivering the sermon, President of the Ogun Baptist Conference, Rev. Oyewale Oyeniyi, encouraged Mrs. Abiodun to remain steadfast in serving God and humanity, stressing that true greatness is measured by a life dedicated to impacting others.

From touching family moments to heartfelt prayers and glowing tributes, the Diamond Jubilee celebration reflected not only Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun’s enduring influence but also the love and admiration she has earned over the years as a wife, mother, humanitarian and Ogun State’s First Lady.
