Breaking: PDP Dissolves Ogun State Executive Committee, Appoints Caretaker Body

ABUJA – The National Caretaker Working Committee (NCWC) of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has dissolved the Ogun State Executive Committee with immediate effect.

This was disclosed in a press release issued on Friday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed. The dissolution effectively removes the current state party leadership, paving the way for an interim arrangement.
According to the statement, the decision to disband the state executive was taken as part of efforts to restructure the party’s operations in the state. While the specific reasons for the dissolution were not detailed in the release, such actions are often taken to resolve internal conflicts or reposition the party ahead of major elections.
The party leadership expressed gratitude to the outgoing members for their service. “The party appreciates the members of the dissolved State Executive Committee for their services and contributions to the growth and development of the party in Ogun State,” the statement read.
To ensure continuity, the National Working Committee confirmed that a new Caretaker Committee would be unveiled shortly to oversee the affairs of the party in the state until a new substantive executive is elected. The composition of this caretaker committee is expected to be announced in the coming days.
This development comes amid broader realignments within the PDP as it seeks to strengthen its presence in the South-West region.
