Ogun Assembly Begins 2026 Budget Performance Appraisal Monday

The Ogun State House of Assembly will on Monday, August 31, 2026, commence the appraisal of the state’s 2026 budget performance for the second quarter.

The exercise, which will be conducted by the Assembly’s Committee on Finance and Appropriation, will assess the performance of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) between January and June 2026.

According to a statement issued by the Clerk and Head of Legislative Service, Mr. Sakiru Adebakin, the exercise will run from Monday, August 31, to Tuesday, September 8, 2026, commencing daily at 10:00 a.m.

The appraisal is part of the constitutional responsibilities of the legislative arm of government and is aimed at assessing the level of compliance of government MDAs with the provisions of the Ogun State 2026 Appropriation Law.

The Assembly said the exercise would also help ensure accountability and value for government resources in the implementation of policies and projects across the state.

The Clerk therefore directed all heads of MDAs to submit the relevant documents and appear before the committee in accordance with the schedule earlier communicated to them.
