Ogun APC Chairman, Chief Sanusi Breaks Down in Emotional Tribute at Spokesman’s Fidau Prayer

Ijebu-Itele, Ogun State | April 20, 2025 – The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Chief Yemi Sanusi, broke down in tears on Sunday as he paid an emotional tribute to the late party spokesman, Comrade Tunde Oladunjoye, during his Fidau prayer at St. John Community Primary School, Ijebu-Itele.

“A Devastating Blow to Our Party”
Chief Sanusi, struggling to maintain his composure, described Oladunjoye’s death as “a devastating blow”* to the APC, recalling his pivotal role in strengthening the party in Ogun State.

“This is personal to us as a party. We were the first three people in the party,”* Sanusi said, his voice trembling. “Tunde knew when to write and when not to write. He would always call me, ‘Sir, I have done this and this.’ He was very humble, loyal, and trustworthy—a true defender of the party.”

Governor Abiodun: “He Was the Heart of Our Communications”
Governor Dapo Abiodun, also present at the prayer session, eulogized Oladunjoye as more than just a party spokesman but “the heart of our communications, our voice in every storm.”

“When we were under attack, he stood firm. When we needed courage, he gave it,” the Governor said. “There were times when everything seemed uncertain, when the political waters were turbulent, but Tunde never flinched. He believed in our mission for Ogun State until his last breath.”

Abiodun praised Oladunjoye’s unwavering dedication, saying, “He sacrificed everything—his intellect, energy, even his peace—for what we believed in. His loyalty wasn’t passive; it was passionate, articulate, and total.”

Daughter’s Touching Tribute: “He Was a Father to All”
The most poignant moment came when the deceased’s daughter, Robiat Oladunjoye, paid tribute to her father as *”a man of honour and deep compassion.”

“Daddy gave himself to everyone,”* she said. *”He was not just our father but a father to many. His absence leaves an irreplaceable void, but his memory remains our guiding light.”

A Legacy of Service and Humility.
Governor Abiodun also highlighted Oladunjoye’s impactful tenure as Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government, where he was known for his bold leadership and humility.

*”He lifted people, built enduring bridges, and left a legacy that will not be forgotten,”* the Governor said, pledging continued support for the bereaved family.

Prince Adebayo Apelogun, the 2025 State Amirul Hajj, offered spiritual reflections, reminding mourners of life’s impermanence and the importance of purposeful living.

A Final Farewell.
As the sun set on the emotional gathering, mourners departed with heavy hearts but a renewed appreciation for a life dedicated to service—a political communicator who spoke truth to power and stood firm in his convictions until the very end.
