Ipokia LG Boss Hosts Youth Leaders, Urges Voter Mobilization and Highlights Achievements

IPOKIA – The Executive Chairman of Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Johnson Akohomeh Avoseh, recently hosted a crucial meeting with the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward Youth Leaders, accompanied by the Local Government Assistant Youth Leader, Wasiu Adeogun. The meeting served as an opportunity for Hon. Avoseh to express profound gratitude for the youth leaders’ unwavering support before, during, and after the local government election held last November.

During the interactive session, Hon. Avoseh strongly encouraged the youth leaders to intensify their efforts in mobilizing and sensitizing young people for the upcoming Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voter registration exercise. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing fresh registrations for those who have newly attained voting age, facilitating voter card transfers, and addressing any necessary corrections. The Chairman underscored the vital role the youth are expected to play in this critical process.

Joining Hon. Avoseh at the meeting were the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Hon. Babajide Johnson Olushola, and the Vice Chairman, Hon. Mrs. Olufunmilayo Okewole.
The meeting also provided a platform for Hon. Avoseh to update the youth leaders on the administration’s significant achievements over the past six months. He highlighted the powering of the local government secretariat with solar lighting and the successful repair of their grader, which is now fully functional. He reported impressive progress in grading across the 12 wards, with 11 already completed.

Additionally, repairs to the local government’s bulldozer are currently ongoing.
Furthermore, Hon. Avoseh detailed advancements in various infrastructure projects within the local government area. These include the ongoing construction of a block of three classrooms at Community Primary School Akopin Kojola, with a similar project at IPLG Primary School Maun I now at the painting stage. Renovations of a block of two classrooms at Community Primary School Idabata and another at Community Primary School Iguu are both nearing completion, also at the painting stage. The construction of an open store with two toilets at Vawhe Tafa Market is also at the painting stage.

The Chairman affirmed that these initiatives are a testament to his administration’s commitment to the “ISEYA agenda” and align seamlessly with the state government’s “Building Our Future Together” initiative, led by the amiable Governor, H.E. Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun CON. He stressed that these projects are being implemented at the local level to promote sustainable development and enhance the lives of the Ipokia community, contributing to the broader vision for development in Ogun State.

Hon. Avoseh concluded by inspiring the youth to remain engaged and actively contribute to the shared vision of progress. He commended the dedication of the APC Ward Youth Leaders and expressed his anticipation for continued collaboration in building a brighter future for Ipokia Local Government.
