Obafemi Owode LG Chairman, Ogunsola Signs 2025 Budget into Law, Engages Foreign Investors for Agricultural Development

Obafemi Owode, Nigeria – The Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, has officially signed the 2025 Appropriation Bill into law, marking a significant step toward economic growth and sustainable development in the council area.

The budget, tagged “Budget of Growth and Sustainable Development,” was presented to the Chairman by the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Saheed Ariyibi, following its swift passage by the councilors. Amb. Ogunsola commended the lawmakers for their diligence and cooperation in ensuring the timely approval of the fiscal document, which is designed to stimulate economic activities across all sectors of the local government.

Hon. Ariyibi praised the Chairman for fostering a harmonious relationship between the executive and legislative arms, citing the recent renovation of the legislative chamber as a testament to his commitment to good governance. He assured continued collaboration to drive development initiatives in Obafemi Owode LG.

Shortly after signing the budget, Amb. Ogunsola embarked on an inspection tour of proposed sites for mechanized farming in the Oba axis, as part of efforts to attract foreign agricultural investments. This follows his recent international engagement with Mayor Robin Christiansen of Dover, Delaware, USA, where a partnership was secured to boost mechanized farming in the council area.

The Chairman also reinforced collaborations with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the Value Chain Development Program, and members of the Alians Forum on Agriculture, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to enhancing food production and export potential.

Present at the budget signing were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abiodun Sobunkonla; Deputy Leader, Hon. Nurudeen Sodehinde; other council members; the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Kayode Dipeolu; and the Head of Local Government Administration, Ms. Olufunke Adeniji.

The move underscores the council’s dedication to infrastructural and agricultural advancement, positioning Obafemi Owode as a hub for sustainable development.
