The Executive Arm of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, Ipokia Local Government Branch, has decorated the Council’s helmsman, Hon . Johnson Akohomeh Avoseh, AKA Cornerstone, as the’’ patron of NULGE’’ Ipokia LG Branch

This decoration came on the heels of the Courtesy Visit paid by the Workers Union executive to the executive chairman, Hon. Avoseh recently at his office.

Speaking on what informed the decoration of the council boss, the chairman of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employers, Ipokia LG Branch, Comrade Daniel Sesede Towakennu, said that the union sees Hon. Avoseh as a father figure who is ready to meet the needs of the workers.

While congratulating Cornerstone on his victory at the polls, which made him emerge as the LG Executive Chairman, Comrade Towakennu stated the aims and goals of the union body (NULGE) and sought the cooperation of the council chief in actualizing them.

In the same vein, he pledged full support and loyalty of the workers to the administration of Hon Avoseh. Comrade Towakennu also seized the opportunity of the courtesy visit to inform the chairman of the challenges confronting the workers. Amongst the challenges are the lack of functional toilets, lack of running water, lack of electricity, and the need to provide security and working kits, i.e. Raincoats and rain booths for the Revenue Generating Officers.

Others are the provision of torchlight for the security men/guards, Non-Accident Bonus for drivers at the end of the year, Disturbance Allowance for the transferred officers and shortage of workers.

Responding, Hon. Johnson Avoseh thanked the union executive for the visit and conferment of the patron of NULGE on him, he also paid tributes to past and serving union leaders. He promised to discuss the challenges facing the workers with management to find solutions to them.
Hon. Avoseh charged the workers to re-dedicate themselves to duty.
