Honest NRC Staff Returns Passenger’s Lost Wallet Containing ₦200,000 on Warri-Itakpe Train

Warri – A passenger on the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) Warri-Itakpe train service has commended the staff for their honesty after a lost wallet containing ₦200,000, ATM cards, and other valuables was recovered and returned to its owner.


The incident occurred on May 12, 2025, when Mr. Mubarak Lawal Dutsi, a Monitoring Officer, discovered the wallet at Uromi Train Station while the train was in operation. Acting swiftly, he handed it over to the Public Relations Officer, who initiated announcements and profiling to locate the owner.
The wallet belonged to Mr. Ogwu Charles Kanayo, who expressed deep gratitude to Mr. Dutsi and the NRC management for their professionalism and integrity.
Engr. Sanni Abdulganiyu, Coordinator of the Warri-Itakpe Train Service, praised Mr. Dutsi for his exemplary conduct, while the NRC Director of Operations, Mr. Akin Osinowo, who was on an inspection visit, also commended the officer’s dedication.
