Breaking: Former Lawmaker, Lanre Laoshe Repays Student Loan with Interest 45 Years Later

In a remarkable display of integrity and gratitude, former House of Representatives member, Hon. Lanre Laoshe, has repaid a N1,200 student loan received between 1976 and 1979 with a staggering N3,189,217.00, 45 years after benefiting from the Federal Government Student Loan Scheme.

Laoshe, who served as Deputy Whip, calculated the current equivalent of the loan using historical exchange rates from the Central Bank of Nigeria, demonstrating his commitment to honoring his debt.
