Ogun 2027: Philanthropist Holds Ramadan Prayer Session, Distributes Cash and Food to Back Yayi’s Guber Ambition

IJEBU NORTH – The campaign for Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) to become the next Governor of Ogun State received a significant boost on Sunday as a prominent philanthropist organized a special Ramadan programme in Ijebu North Local Government Area.

The event, which was part of the “Friends of Senator Yayi (FSY) Ramadan Programme 2026,” combined religious observance with political solidarity. Hundreds of Muslim faithful gathered for a Tafsir (Quranic exegesis) and a special prayer session, which was followed by the distribution of food items and cash gifts.

The programme was anchored on the theme, “Politics with Purpose: Islamic Teachings on Justice, Service Delivery, and Community Development.” Clerics and community leaders in attendance used the opportunity to reflect on the qualities of leadership, emphasizing the importance of justice, compassion, and selfless service—values they associated with the Senator representing Ogun West.

A key highlight of the gathering was a special prayer led by a league of respected Imams and Alfas from the local government. The clerics offered fervent supplications for the peace and progress of Ogun State, and specifically sought divine guidance and support for the gubernatorial aspiration of Senator Yayi in the 2027 elections.

In keeping with the spirit of Ramadan—a month dedicated to charity and reflection—the event also served a humanitarian purpose. Hundreds of residents benefited from the distribution of essential food items and cash gifts, an initiative aimed at strengthening community bonds and supporting the less privileged during the holy month.

The entire programme was sponsored by an unnamed philanthropist from the area, described by organizers as a steadfast supporter of Senator Yayi’s governorship project. According to a statement from the FSY group, the sponsor’s dedication reflects the growing belief in the senator’s capacity to deliver transformational leadership.

“The movement for purposeful leadership, people-centred governance, and sustainable development in Ogun State is growing stronger by the day,” the group stated. “The people are united, the vision is clear, and by the grace of God, the journey toward a greater future under the leadership of Senator Yayi is unstoppable.”
