Abiodun, Elemide Felicitate Former Ogun Speaker Oluomo at 63
ABEOKUTA – Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, and Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, have congratulated former Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, on his 63rd birthday anniversary.
Oluomo, who is also the Vice Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, celebrates his birthday on Sunday, October 11, 2026.
In a congratulatory message personally signed by him, Governor Abiodun described the former Speaker as a distinguished and committed public servant whose contributions to the political and legislative development of Ogun State have remained significant over the years.
The Governor noted that attaining the age of 63 in good health, with an enviable record of dedicated public service, was a testament to the grace and faithfulness of Almighty God.
Abiodun also commended Oluomo’s political journey, describing it as a remarkable demonstration of perseverance, dedication and sustained public confidence.
He recalled that Oluomo was first elected into the 7th Ogun State House of Assembly in 2011 to represent Ifo I State Constituency, where he served as Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Justice, Ethics and Public Petitions.
According to the Governor, Oluomo’s re-election into the 8th Assembly in 2015 and subsequent emergence as Deputy Speaker reflected the confidence reposed in his leadership and legislative abilities.
Abiodun further noted that Oluomo became Speaker of the 9th Assembly in 2019 and returned to the position following his re-election in 2023, serving until January 2024.
He described Oluomo’s election into the Ogun State House of Assembly for four consecutive terms as a notable achievement that underscored his political resilience, experience and enduring connection with his constituents.
The Governor, on behalf of his family, the Ogun State Government and the people of the state, prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the former Speaker, wishing him good health, renewed wisdom, strength and greater opportunities to contribute to the development of Ogun State and Nigeria.
He also wished Oluomo greater fulfilment and peace in the years ahead, while reaffirming his highest regards for the former legislative leader.
