Obafemi Owode CDC Backs APC, Endorses Tinubu, Yayi, Salisu, Osoba, Soneye Ahead of 2027

Abeokuta – The Obafemi Owode Zonal Community Development Committee (CDC) has declared its support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made during the grand opening of the newly constructed CDC Multipurpose Hall and Secretariat in Owode, a facility funded and built by community development practitioners within the Obafemi Owode Zonal CDC without government intervention.
Speaking at the event, the Zonal CDC Chairman, Engr. Adeleke Adegboyega, said the decision to support the APC was based on the party’s leadership and what he described as its commitment to development.
Adegboyega particularly commended the APC governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, for his contributions to infrastructure, women empowerment, social engagement and community welfare.
He said the CDC had confidence in Adeola’s leadership capacity and his ambition to reposition Ogun State for greater progress and sustainable development.
Responding, Senator Adeola commended the Obafemi Owode Zonal CDC for becoming, according to him, the first CDC in the area to construct a self-funded secretariat and multipurpose hall without government intervention.
The APC governorship candidate also appreciated the Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, for his support and role in his emergence as the party’s governorship candidate.
Adeola described Obafemi Owode as a strategic business hub because of its proximity to Lagos and neighbouring states, as well as its significant economic potential.
He said Urban and Regional Development was one of the key pillars of his blueprint, assuring that Obafemi Owode Local Government would benefit significantly from the implementation of the programme.
As part of his support for the community, Adeola donated 50 solar-powered streetlights to the Zonal CDC Secretariat, alongside other gifts.
Salisu Seeks Support for Tinubu, APC Candidates
Also speaking at the event, the Senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, commended the CDC leadership for its initiative and vision in constructing the facility through community-driven efforts.
Salisu urged residents to continue supporting the APC and specifically called for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, himself, Hon. Olumide Osoba and Hon. Soneye Damilola Kayode in their respective elections.
The Member representing Obafemi Owode/Ifo Federal Constituency, Hon. Olumide Osoba, also assured the CDC and residents of his continued commitment to facilitating infrastructure and other interventions that would benefit communities, Community Development Associations (CDAs) and CDCs across the local government.
Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, announced the approval of a dedicated bus stop for the Zonal CDC Secretariat.
Ogunsola said the initiative was aimed at supporting community development and improving accessibility to the newly constructed facility.
The event was attended by community leaders, CDC and CDA executives, traditional leaders, political stakeholders, government officials and residents, who gathered to celebrate the completion of the facility and reaffirm their commitment to community development and good governance.
