OGUN ASSEMBLY VETS STATUTORY COMMISSIONS’ NOMINEES, EMPHASIZES ENHANCED SERVICE DELIVERY

Abeokuta, Nigeria – The Ogun State House of Assembly has conducted a screening exercise for individuals nominated to serve on various statutory commissions within the state. The list of nominees was previously submitted to the Assembly by the State Governor, Dapo Abiodun. During the screening, the Assembly leadership urged the nominees to formulate strategies aimed at improving the performance and overall value of these commissions, ultimately leading to enhanced service delivery for the Ogun State Public Service.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, presided over the screening process held at the Assembly Complex in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. The exercise involved nominees for the House of Assembly Service Commission, Local Government Service Commission, Teaching Service Commission, and Judicial Service Commission.
Speaker Elemide emphasized that the extensive experience possessed by the nominees was crucial for advancing the objectives of the respective commissions, pending their approval by the House and subsequent inauguration by Governor Abiodun.
He encouraged the nominees to align their responsibilities with the “ISEYA” mantra of the current administration led by Governor Dapo Abiodun. The Speaker also lauded the Governor for the caliber of individuals nominated, which included former State Lawmakers and appointees with prior experience in various capacities, such as statutory commissions, local government administration, and private practice.
Furthermore, Rt. Hon. Elemide called for sustained collaboration between the statutory commissions and the State Legislature. He also stressed the importance of developing guidelines and policies that would reposition the public service for optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
In their separate addresses, the nominees shared their professional backgrounds and gave assurances of their commitment to contributing meaningfully to their respective commissions. They pledged to discharge their duties with integrity, loyalty, and a genuine sense of purpose.
It is worth noting that Governor Dapo Abiodun had earlier communicated the appointments to the boards of these commissions. The nominees for the Local Government Service Commission include Olubukunola Olivia Onabanjo as Chairman, with Hon. Lukman Olufemi Adiro, Martins Adekoyejo Ijaduoye, Olatunde Azeez Abiodun Osunbiyi, and Olatunde Rasaki Rufai serving as members.
For the State Teaching Service Commission, Apostle Abiodun Sanyaolu has been nominated as Chairman, while Olanrewaju Majekodunmi, Deola Akintonde, Hon. Adeleke Salmon (Sonto), Hon. (Mrs.) Atinuke Bello, and Hon. Kemi Oduwole are nominated as members.
The State House of Assembly Service Commission has Rt. Hon. Suraj Ishola Adekunbi as the proposed Chairman, with Samuel Ibidapo Odukoya, Alhaji Fasiu Ajadi, and Hon. Folakemi J. Akintayo as members.
The nominees for the State Judicial Service Commission include Hon. Justice M. A. Dipeolu as Chairman, alongside Hon. Justice Femi-Segun A. Olusola, Mr. Olusina Ogungbade, SAN Adeyemi Ademuyiwa, Dr. Saheed Oyede, and Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji as members.
