FG Rallies Support for Ogun Tech Initiatives, Promises 300 New Jobs

Abeokuta – The Federal Government has pledged increased support for technology-driven initiatives in Ogun State, with plans to create an additional 300 jobs through tech-based investments for youths in the state.

The Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, made the announcement during a roundtable discussion with the Ogun Tech Community in Abeokuta, aimed at advancing the state’s technological development.

Dr. Tijani commended Ogun State for emerging as a model in Nigeria’s digital economy, attributing its success to strategic investments in emerging technology ecosystems. He revealed that the Federal Government plans to boost job creation through business process outsourcing, positioning Ogun as a hub for tech talent.

The Minister urged stakeholders, particularly the Ogun Tech Community, to focus on developing tech-driven solutions for local businesses by leveraging artificial intelligence, robotics, and drone technology in key sectors such as education and agriculture. He reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting states and entrepreneurs driving innovation in the digital economy.

In his remarks, the President of the Ogun Tech Community, Adekunle Durosinmi, praised Governor Dapo Abiodun for fostering a tech-friendly environment through initiatives like the Ogun TechHub. He highlighted the initiative’s impact in reshaping the careers of youths while supporting startups and entrepreneurs. Durosinmi called for stronger collaboration between the government and the tech community to sustain growth.

The event underscored the growing synergy between federal and state authorities in advancing Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.
