IPOKIA — The Executive Chairman of Ipokia Local Government, Hon. Johnson Akohomeh Avoseh, has commenced the third phase of developmental projects aimed at improving primary healthcare, upgrading public primary schools and expanding access to basic amenities across the local government.

The initiative follows the completion of the first and second phases, which focused on strengthening healthcare delivery, upgrading educational infrastructure and improving access to essential community facilities.

In a statement, Avoseh said the latest phase would prioritise the renovation and equipping of primary healthcare centres, the improvement of learning environments in public primary schools and the provision of essential amenities to meet the needs of residents.

Under the healthcare component, the projects include the complete renovation and provision of medical equipment at the Primary Healthcare Centre, Whekan, in Agada Ward, and the Primary Healthcare Centre, Alaga, in Ipokia Ward I.

The phase also includes the construction of staff quarters at the Primary Healthcare Centre, Ogosa, in Ajegunle Ward, to improve the facility and support effective healthcare delivery.

In the education sector, renovation works and the provision of furniture are planned for Ipokia Local Government Primary School, Odan-Ijaye, in Ipokia Ward II; Local Government Primary School, Lepa-Gbodo, in Ijofin/Idosa Ward; and Ipokia Local Government Primary School, Koko, in Ifonyintedo Ward.

The projects also cover the installation of solar-powered boreholes at the Local Government Secretariat and Afame community in Ipokia Ward I, alongside other infrastructure interventions.

Avoseh assured residents that the projects would be executed with speed and subjected to rigorous, continuous inspections at every stage to ensure quality delivery.

He said the administration was determined to complete and commission the projects as quickly as possible, particularly to enable pupils to benefit from improved school facilities and more conducive learning environments.

The council chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening primary healthcare, improving educational infrastructure and expanding access to essential amenities across Ipokia Local Government.

He expressed appreciation to the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his support, leadership and the enabling environment for grassroots development.

Avoseh also commended the local government councillors and supervisors for their cooperation and commitment to monitoring the projects, noting that their contributions were important to ensuring that the works met the required standards.

He further acknowledged the contributions of the administrative staff, the Head of Local Government Administration and departmental directors towards the implementation of the projects.

According to the chairman, primary healthcare centres and public primary schools require sustained investment, regular monitoring and deliberate attention to ensure that residents have improved access to healthcare and children can learn in safe and comfortable environments.

He maintained that his administration would continue to pursue developmental initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of residents and building a brighter future for Ipokia Local Government.

The statement was signed by Hon. Johnson Akohomeh Avoseh, Executive Chairman of Ipokia Local Government and Public Relations Officer of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Ogun State Chapter.
