Yoruba Kọ’ya Backs Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election, Unveils South-West Mobilisation Plans

The Yoruba Kọ’ya Leadership and Training Foundation, led by Otunba Ayodeji Osibogun, has declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, pledging to mobilise grassroots support across the six South-West states.
The Foundation said its decision was driven by confidence in Tinubu’s economic reform agenda and the need to consolidate the policies and initiatives introduced by his administration to reposition the Nigerian economy.
Osibogun, in a statement, said the organisation would strengthen its existing grassroots structures, expand membership and intensify community engagement ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
According to the Foundation, its mobilisation strategy will include outreach to business owners, artisans, vocational groups and market women, as well as fundraising, door-to-door campaigns and voter education.
The organisation also disclosed that its activities would extend beyond the South-West to Yoruba communities in Kwara, Kogi, Edo and Delta states, where it maintains that longstanding historical and cultural connections exist.
Explaining its support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition, the Foundation said it believed continuity would provide an opportunity for the administration to consolidate ongoing reforms, advance its economic agenda and build on efforts towards national economic recovery.
The group also announced plans to hold a comprehensive press conference to unveil its grassroots mobilisation strategy, organisational framework and proposed activities across the six South-West states.
It said the date, venue and time of the press conference would be announced in due course.
Meanwhile, the Foundation expressed condolences over the death of its patron, Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, an elder statesman and Afenifere leader.
It extended its sympathies to his family, associates and the wider Yoruba community, describing his death as a significant loss to the Yoruba nation.
The statement was signed by Otunba Ayodeji Osibogun, President of the Yoruba Kọ’ya Leadership and Training Foundation.
