YPM Declares Support for Tinubu’s Re-Election, Endorses Adeola for Ogun Governorship
Abuja — The Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM) has officially declared its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid and endorsed Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) as its preferred candidate for the Ogun State governorship election.
The group made the declaration on Thursday in Abuja, ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention. Speaking at a press briefing, the Convener of YPM, Hon. (Mrs) Abidemi Bada, called on delegates and party leaders to rally behind the President, arguing that continuity is essential for the full realisation of his administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.
“Continuity is not just desirable; it is imperative,” Mrs Bada said, adding that ongoing economic and institutional reforms require stability to yield lasting results.
On the Ogun State governorship race, Mrs Bada endorsed Senator Adeola, describing hisInegislative experience and grassroots connections as critical assets for sustaining the state’s development. She urged party stakeholders to close ranks and reinforce unity ahead of the party primaries.
The YPM convener also called for stronger internal democracy within the APC, emphasising that decisions from the convention should reflect the collective will of party members.
Political observers note that the endorsement signals an early alignment of factions within the Ogun APC as the party prepares for upcoming elections.
