Ogun Deputy Governor Unveils Dapo Abiodun Youth Programme Season 5

In what was much anticipated by the good people of Ogun State, the annual Dapo Abiodun Youth End of the Year Party and empowerment for party faithful and youth in Ogun was unveiled today as preparations for the annual edition kick-off.

This year’s edition, Season 5, was unveiled by the Deputy Governor today after a brief meeting with the organizers at her office, Oke Mosan. It is expected to feature the usual raffles, games, musical performances, and awards for youth.

Unlike last year, where various pressing issues affecting the nation were discussed and dissected to attract participation and suggest workable solutions, this year’s edition will celebrate stakeholders and leaders who have supported and embraced youth programmes and innovations, nurturing and advancing youth ideals.

In her acknowledgement of the programme, the Deputy Governor, Alhaja Noimot Salako Oyedele, emphasized the importance of youth creative ideas and innovative ideas in subsequent youth programmes. She said, unarguably, the role of the youth in the socio-cultural and economic landscape of the state cannot be overemphasized, and there is a need for the youth to be engaging and interactive with the government. Apart from being the future brands of the state, Ogun youth are a driving force for peaceful co-existence and our improved economy. She advised that the youth should always endeavour to come together like this and have robust engagements that will snap up leadership essentials. She, however, promised support and assured government endorsement of the programme to fruition.

Speaking on behalf of the organizing committee, the Convener, Rasheed Aroboto, intimated the Deputy Governor, Alhaja Noimot Salako Oyedele, on the need to access all youth areas, stressing the importance of youth in the state. The S.A. Sports Development said the youth of Ogun State are formidable determinants and they deserve to celebrate. He further said the Dapo Abiodun Youth Programme featuring annual empowerment is conceived to give youth the expected sense of belonging in this administration, matching the philosophies of Prince Dapo Abiodun. The empowerment is targeted at vulnerable Ogun youth and individuals in need and is scheduled to be held on Friday, December 20th, at the June 12 Cultural Centre.
