Odeda LG Chair, Adeyemo Receives Distinguished Leadership Award in Governance
The Executive Chairman of Odeda Local Government and Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Ogun State, Hon. (Dr.) Waliat Folasade Adeyemo has been honoured with a Distinguished Leadership in Governance Award.
The award was presented to her by the President of the Positive Psychology Association of Nigeria (POPAN), Professor Bayo Oluwole, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the association.
The ceremony took place on June 16, 2025, at the Lagos State University of Education, Noforija, Epe, Lagos State.
In her remarks, Hon. Adeyemo expressed gratitude to the executives and members of the association for the recognition, stating that she was delighted to be a foundation member of POPAN.
She emphasized the importance of understanding the concept of delayed gratification in building strong connections and fostering positive psychology. The Odeda LG boss also assured the association of her continued support.
Dignitaries present at the event included Hon. Folusho Badejo, Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government; Hon. Ebenezer Sina Semilore, Majority Leader of Odeda Local Government; Hon. Adekunle Taiwo, Supervisor for Information, Education, and Sports; Mr. Ayodeji Micheal, Head of Local Government Administration, Odeda LG; Wale Bolarinwa, Information Officer; as well as professors, doctors, members of the association, and other participants.
The event was a testament to Hon. Adeyemo’s impactful leadership and dedication to governance and community development.
