Obafemi-Owode LG Chairman Ogunsola Commissions Reconstructed Health Authority Building, Solar System, Motorized Borehole

The Executive Chairman of Obafemi-Owode Local Government, Ambassador Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, has commissioned a series of community development projects, including a reconstructed health authority building with a solar power system and a motorized borehole, aimed at improving the welfare of residents across the council area.

The projects commissioned include a motorized borehole at Odofin-Oke in Ajura Ward and the reconstructed Obafemi-Owode Local Government Health Authority office complex at Isale Oja, Owode, equipped with a newly installed 10KVA lithium battery solar system.
Speaking during the inauguration of the borehole project at Odofin-Oke, Orile-Imo, Ogunsola expressed appreciation to residents for their continued support and loyalty to his administration. He assured the community that plans were underway to commence road grading in the area.
The council chairman noted that the Orile-Imo axis remains strategically important to the Ogun State Government due to its position as a gateway to the state’s growing industrial corridor stretching from the interchange towards Abeokuta.
Ogunsola also commended the Councillor representing Owode Ward, Hon. Adekunle Ajayi, who facilitated the borehole project, describing the initiative as a commendable effort to complement government interventions at the grassroots.
He urged other indigenes and stakeholders in Orile-Imo, Odofin-Oke, Odofin-Odo and neighbouring communities to emulate such community-driven development efforts by partnering with government to provide essential infrastructure.
At the commissioning of the reconstructed Health Authority building, Ogunsola charged healthcare workers to uphold professional ethics and remain committed to quality service delivery.
According to him, the newly installed solar system is the first of its kind among local government health authority offices in Ogun State and is expected to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
The chairman further praised the Health Secretary, Dr. Olusan Oluwaseun, for his contributions since assuming office, while urging nurses, Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs), pharmacists and other health personnel to work closely with residents in ensuring that primary healthcare services remain affordable and accessible to all.
Earlier, Hon. Ajayi thanked the local government chairman for approving the borehole project, explaining that the initiative was motivated by his desire to give back to his community.
He also appealed to the local government to facilitate the construction of an asphalt road linking the community, noting that improved road infrastructure would accelerate development and economic activities in the area.
Speaking at the event, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Works, Engr. Akeem Babatunde Adesina, disclosed that roads connecting Odofin-Oke, Odofin-Odo and Olojo are included in the Ogun State Government’s infrastructure development plans and would be addressed in due course.
Dignitaries present at the commissioning ceremonies included the Vice Chairman of Obafemi-Owode Local Government, Hon. Abiodun Sobukonla; the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Kayode Dipeolu; the Baale of Odofin-Oke, Chief Wasiu Sodeinde, and other community leaders and government officials.
The projects form part of the ongoing efforts of the Obafemi-Owode Local Government administration to improve infrastructure, healthcare delivery and access to basic amenities across the council area.
