Adeola Azeez urges women participation in elections, empowers 300 women in Ijebu Central

House of Reps hopeful for Ijebu Central federal constituency, Mrs. Adeola Azeez, has urged women to ensure full participation in the coming elections, with a call for them to seize the opportunity of the open window for voter registration to obtain the voter’s card.

She made this call at the empowerment event she sponsored in Ijebu where over 300 women drawn from the three LGAs in Ijebu Central federal constituency received cash empowerment and welfare materials.

The event, themed ‘Awa Obinrin Ti De’, was done in commemoration of the International Women’s Day in continuation of the social investment programs under the Adeola Azeez Community Care Foundation (ACCF).

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Adeola Azeez said “when we rise as women, we change the status quo. My charge to you today women is to arise! Get up from the floor and take your place. 2023 is here and it is our collective duty to ensure that our country rises again. Let your voice count. At the elections, go out to vote. Vote for the people who will lift up our land.”

Other government and political leaders at the event, including Barr. Bukola Onabanjo, the Chairman of the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, corroborated her position with a charge to women to secure their interests by electing leaders with a clear agenda and proven capacity on how to improve their conditions.

Also present at the event was Hon. Atinuke Bello, the Chief Whip of the Ogun State House of Assembly; Hon. Adetutu Elizabeth Oyesanya, the Vice Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government; Hon. Musiliu Idowu, Odogbolu LG Chaiman; Hon. Adekunle Aranmolate, Ijebu LG Chairman and others.
