Gboyega Isiaka Facilitates Groundbreaking Rice and Cotton Cultivation Project in Ogun State

Ogun State has taken a significant leap towards enhancing agricultural productivity, thanks to the efforts of Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between the Ogun State Ministry of Agriculture and Lee Group subsidiaries, Sun Crops Limited and Sun Giant Limited, for a Rice and Cotton Cultivation and Processing Project in Yewa North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency.
The project, set to commence in February 2025, will initially cover 50,000 hectares of land, with plans to expand further as it progresses. Cotton Cultivation in the Imeko-Afon Local Government area is scheduled to begin later in the year.
According to Prince Isiaka, the project aligns with Governor Dapo Abiodun’s vision for investment and agricultural advancement in Ogun State. Liu Fei, Deputy General Manager of the Lee Group, commended the Ogun State government for creating an investment-friendly environment, assuring stakeholders that the project would drive significant development, generate employment opportunities, and reinforce the state’s agricultural framework.
The project has already gained momentum, with a sensitization meeting held in August with Oba Alani Adegboyega, the Oniggua of Eggua. The delegation toured the land earmarked for Rice Cultivation and reaffirmed their commitment to completing the project. Dr. Umar Moh’d Majia praised Prince Isiaka for his efforts in actualizing the project.
This groundbreaking project is expected to boost agricultural productivity, create jobs, and contribute to the economic growth of Ogun State.
