Ogun APC Primaries: SEMBOL begins Consultation to Odeda LG Leaders, Promises more dividends of Democracy

Ahead of the commencement of the Local Government Elections process as approved by OGSIEC, one of the leading chairmanship aspirants and the current Transition chairman of Odeda Local Government on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Hon. (Alhaji) Semiu Bola Lawal has promised to provide more dividends of democracy to the people of the Odeda Local government.

He made the promise during the tour of 5 of the wards in Odeda local government. He visited the aforementioned 5 wards on Monday, 3rd of May, 2021, ahead of the primary election scheduled between 4th may to 8th of May 2021.

The wards are
Orile Ilugun ward 5, Odeda ward 1, Olodo ward 3, Alagbagba ward 4 and Balogun Itesi ward 2.

Lawal’s tour, which began on Monday, would take him to the 10 wards within the local government to woo APC members at the grassroots.

The Director General of his campaign organisation, Hon. Adewale Adeogun, said the need for the visitation was to reconnect with stakeholders, Community Leaders and Elders of the APC. He described the move as a strategic one adopted by the campaign organisation.

Adeogun said: “These are the people who will vote, these are the people who represent the party at the ward level, these are the people who have held forth all this while, they are the springboard of our grassroots strategy not only now, but in the coming local government election.”

The consultation which began at Orile Ilugun ward 5 where tons of APC members welcomed the entourage and promised to support Hon. Semiu Bola Lawal.

While welcoming the chairman, the current APC ward chairman, Cheif Tajudeen Adisa, called on all party faithful to support Hon. Lawal.
“He, Semiu Lawal, is a silent achiever who has contributed immensely to the socio-economic and political development of Odeda Local Government.

The people of Olodo Ward 3, Alagbagba Ward 4, Odeda Ward 1 and Balogun Itesi ward 2 have assured Hon. Semiu Bola Lawal of their unflinching support. They gave the assurance while delivering their various messages of solidarity during the tour.

Speaking on behalf of the people of Odeda Ward 1, the former Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Fatai Adebimpe said, “Our people should not use the concept of generalization to determine the man called Alhaji Bola Lawal, he is a bridge builder who has the interest of others at heart irrespective of their political leanings.

According to one of the leaders in Olodo ward 3, Mrs. (Hon) Funke Olaogun, who once served as Supervisory Councillor of works in Odeda Local Government, said “I have no regrets in joining APC because he accepted us. She said he (SEMBOL) never discriminates against anyone and he is a silent achiever who has contributed immensely to the socio-economic and political development of Odeda Local Government.
