Residents of Ifo Laud Gov. Dapo Abiodun Over Road Construction Promise

In his quest to see that Ogun state goes above enviable heights, Ogun state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, today, in his series of road inspection tour across the state visited Ifo township where he inspected the ongoing construction of Ikorita Meje -Olose Titun -Asujay- Abata- Vespa road that will serve as alternative for road users along the the Lagos-Abeokuta express way corridor.
The Governor in his remarks stated that the road embarked upon wasn’t decided in the governor’s office Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta but was chosen by the good people of Ifo Local Government because the people know what’s best for them.
He further stated that the road construction was part of his campaign promise to bring ease to the life of residents of the state as promised in his campaign manifesto.
The Governor stated that his visit was to ensure that the work was in progress and as a listening Governor get feedback from the indigenes on how to serve them better.
He said he had received reports that the residents of the locality have been cooperative that its a manifestation that the good loving people of Ifo local government wants better development.
Mr. Governor said in no distance time that the road will be completed and it will help ease the traffic congestion along the Abeokuta-Lagos express and also help boost commercial activities in the locality.
He made emphasis on the importance of Ifo local government (both constituency I and II) to Ogun state that aside the fact that its a neighboring local govt with Lagos it also serves as one of the politically relevant local governments in Ogun state in terms of voting power and public recognition.
He said he’s a governor that keeps promise and stated that he’d make sure he fulfills all of the promises made to people of Ifo local government.
The residents who spoke thanked Mr. Governor for the project stating that the people now believe they have someone who they can trust, that since the past years they haven’t felt any government presence but now they are glad the Governor is doing what’s best for the state at a time people are almost losing trust for those at helm of affairs.
The Governor in his final remarks stated that he’s committed to linking the boundary towns that link Ogun and Lagos for better cooperation since Lagos is a spill over into Ogun state.
He promised residents of Ifo that the next time he’d be visiting that the road would have been completed (in few months) and will be due for commissioning alongside walkways and street lights.
