Ifo LG Chairman, Kusimo Issues 7-Day Ultimatum to Fake Revenue Officials

The Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Hon. Idris Olalekan Kusimo, has issued a stringent seven-day quit notice to individuals masquerading as revenue officers of the Council Area within the Ojodu-Abiodun Axis. The directive was given on Thursday, April 10, 2025, during an unscheduled visit to the Council’s Ojodu-Abiodun office.

This action follows the Chairman’s earlier disavowal of the fraudulent operatives, who have been illegally confiscating vehicle number plates under the guise of enforcing road regulations. The situation escalated after a BBC Yoruba reporter was unlawfully extorted by the impostors, prompting a public rebuttal from Hon. Kusimo to clarify the local government’s non-involvement.

“The activities of these impersonators undermine public trust and disrupt lawful governance,” stated Hon. Kusimo. “This ultimatum reaffirms our commitment to protecting citizens from exploitation and ensuring only authorized personnel operate within our jurisdiction.”

The seven-day notice underscores the administration’s zero-tolerance stance toward illegal revenue collection and its dedication to transparent and accountable governance.
