Catch Them Young: ICAN ABEOKUTA Sensitizes Undergraduates, Donates Packs

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN Abeokuta and District Society) has organised a programme tagged “ICAN Catch Them Young” for students of the Federal College of Education (FCE), Osiele in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The programme held on Tuesday 11th July, 2023 at the College premises is part of ICAN’s plan to build the choice of professional accounting career in the minds of younger generation and encourage them to enrol for ICAN exams and qualify in record time.

The 19th Chairman of the Association, Alhaji Wasiu Babatunde Junaid FCA, who made this known at the event admonished students who were mainly from the Business Education, Economics and Finance Departments to enrol and study hard, in order to become professional in the field of accounting.

According to Alhaji Junaid, sensitization is designed to correct the erroneous impression that becoming a Chartered accountant is difficult.

Meanwhile, the District also paid a courtesy call on Dr. Rafiu Kola Soyele, the Provost of FCE, Abeokuta, the first higher institution of learning in Ogun State where ICAN Packs were presented to the School to aid the Students in their study.

On the ICAN’s entourage to the event were Prince Segun Oyebanjo, ACA, General Secretary, Mr. Olusegun Adesina, ACA, Assistant Secretary and Mrs. Adejoke Kolawole, FCA, Treasurer. Others are Mr. Daniel Oyalakun, ACA, Financial Secretary, Mr. Sola Adejumo, ACA, amongst many other prominent members of the District.
