APC Youth League Congratulates Governor Ganduje On His Victory At The Supreme Court
The All Progressive Congress Youth League Worldwide, felicitates with the executive governor of Kano State, His Excellency Governor Abdullahi Ganduje whose election as governor of Kano State was affirmed today by the Supreme Court.
This was made known today by Nwachukwu Sadik Enemosa, National Director, Media/Publicity of the organisation.
INEC on March 24, 2019, declared Governor Abdullahi Ganduje winner of the combined results of March 9 and 23 governorship election in Kano State. But the election was challenged by Abba Yusuf who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in a legal battle that proceeded through the Tribunal to the supreme court.
The Supreme Court in a unanimous judgement delivered by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta on Monday, January 20, 2020, affirmed the election of His Excellency Governor Abdullahi Ganduje as the duly elected governor of Kano State.
The Court held that the challenger, Abba Yusuf of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP did not show that the Court of Appeal and the Election Tribunal were wrong in their earlier rulings. The Seven – member panel said the appeal had no merit and dismissed it.
