Hon. Olumide Osoba Launches Ward-Based Development Initiative in Support of Tinubu’s Poverty Alleviation Programme

Abeokuta– In alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s renewed focus on grassroots development, Hon. Olumide Osoba, Member of the House of Representatives representing Abeokuta North/Obafemi-Owode/Odeda Federal Constituency, has distributed bags of rice and fertilisers across all 38 wards in his constituency.

The banner for the event prominently featured images of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Hon. Olumide Osoba, with the inscription: “Ward Grain Distribution & Ward Outreach in Support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

The initiative, which kicked off today in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, saw the participation of ward representatives and community leaders from across the federal constituency. The event, tagged “Ward Grain Distribution and Ward Outreach,” was held at 1 Ataba Close, Ibara Housing GRA, Abeokuta, at 10:30 am.
Hon. Osoba expressed his enthusiasm for supporting President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme (RHWDP), which was formally adopted at the 150th National Economic Council (NEC) meeting held last Thursday at the State House in Abuja. The RHWDP is a nationwide intervention targeting Nigeria’s 8,809 administrative wards, aimed at poverty alleviation, food security, rural electrification, infrastructure development, and economic stimulation.
“I am proud to key into President Tinubu’s vision of bringing development directly to the grassroots,” Osoba stated. “This programme is designed to uplift millions of Nigerians by addressing critical needs at the ward level, and I am committed to ensuring my constituency benefits fully.”
The event was attended by key political stakeholders, including Alhaja Faida Akintunde Sarumi, APC Chairman in Abeokuta North; Hon. Musulumi Saka, APC Chairman of Odeda Local Government; and Hon. Olude, Obafemi-Owode APC Chairman. They commended the lawmaker for his consistent efforts in supporting grassroots communities and pledged continued support for both Hon. Osoba and President Tinubu’s administration.
“We appreciate Hon. Olumide Osoba for always remembering the people at the grassroots,” said Alhaja Sarumi. “This kind of empowerment initiative shows that our leaders are in touch with the needs of the people, and we promise to stand firmly behind them.”
The Ward Grain Distribution and Ward Outreach programme underscores the federal government’s commitment to inclusive development, with lawmakers like Osoba driving implementation at the constituency level. As the RHWDP rolls out across the country, more states are expected to adopt similar ward-based interventions to fast-track poverty reduction and economic growth.
