Pelican Estate boss, Adeyemo bags Doctorate Degree from European-American Varsity

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a foremost real estate company in Nigeria, Pelican Valley Limited, Babatunde Adeyemo, has been conferred with a Doctorate Degree by the European-American University (EAU) Republic of Panama.

Adeyemo company was awarded a Doctor of Science, Honoris Causa (D. Sc. Hons), in Business Management and Corporate Governance, by the university at a ceremony in held in Lagos on Saturday.

The European-American University, is a global university without walls established in 2003 to offer educational opportunities for adults who desire a more flexible alternative to the traditional university system.

The university boasts of over 20 affiliated campuses across Africa and Asia.

The EAU had hinted in a letter of conferment that the Pelican Valley boss was selected for honour in his recognition of his outstanding achievements and contributions to the socioeconomic development of Ogun State and Nigeria in general.

The university in the letter further described him as an exemplary leader who has brought unprecedented development to the real estate industry in Ogun.

It, however, explained that the award was part of its programmes to encourage excellence and knowledge, and contributions of respected and distinguished men and women worldwide.

“The degree is for those who have made outstanding contributions in Academics, Politics, Business, Public Administration, Governance, Religion, Community Peace and Development, Humanitarian Services, etc, in advancement of humanity in general.

“Your name has been recommended to us as one of such distinguished personalities to be conferred with this Doctorate Decree in Lagos-Nigeria, for Doctor of Science, Honoris Causa (D. Sc. Hons), in Business Management and Corporate Governance, in view of your outstanding achievements, contributions observed and strongly appreciated by those recommending you.

“The Honour is also in acknowledgement of your business acumen and philanthropic gestures in the education sector”, the university had submitted in the letter.

In his acceptance speech, Adeyemo commended the management of the university for the honour done him, declaring that he remained committed to the development of the real estate industry and the overall development of Nigeria’s economy.

The real estate developer, who expressed delight at the award, described the laurel as a positive achievement in his career.

Adeyemo, who is also a journalist with over two decades of experience assured that he would continue to pursue the delivery of quality and affordable housing to Nigerians.

He disclosed that, his company, Pelican Valley, had delivered more than 250 affordable housing projects to Nigerians, thereby complementing both Federal and State governments’ efforts at meeting the housing needs of Nigerians.

“This is a very positive movement in my career. This honour is a new challenge for me and already I am already preparing for the task ahead.

“For me, education remains the most important thing in life. I believe a lot in this philosophy. Through Pelican Valley, we will support students in realising their dreams by supporting them and help their educational dream”. Adeyemo enthused.

He, however, called on the university to establish a campus in Nigeria, pledging his readiness to facilitate land for building the campus in Ogun, which he noted as education capital of Nigeria.

Adeyemo also urged recipients of the awards of EAU to ensure that they organise an annual reunion, where they would come together and brainstorm on various socioeconomic challenges confronting the country with a view to finding lasting solutions.
