Ogun First Lady, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun Welcomes First Babies of the Year
Ogun First Lady, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun has welcomed the first babies of the year in Ogun State with prayer, gifts of baby items and cash.
The first, baby Aroge, male, weighing 3.6kg was delivered at exactly 12.00am at the State Hospital, Ijaye, to the family of Aroge, where the First Lady equally gifted all mothers and babies in the ward gifts of cash and baby items.
Mrs. Abiodun also visited a baby girl, weighing 3.2kg delivered at 12.00am at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu to the family of Mrs. Ifeoluwa Omisakin .
Welcoming another baby boy, given birth to at 12.02am weighing 3.3kg to the family of Mrs. Ronke Mafe at the Makun Primary Health Center, Sagamu, Mrs. Abiodun congratulated the families, describing their babies as special gifts from God, adding that they should be valued and cherished.
The First Lady admonished new mothers to practice exclusive breastfeeding with their babies, noting that all the nutrients needed for their healthy growth are present in the breast milk.
Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker in her remarks urged the people of the state to enroll on the State’s Health Insurance Scheme for adequate and subsidised medical care.
