OGUN ASSEMBLY SPEAKER, OLUOMO COMMENDS APEX COURT VERDICT, CONGRATULATES GOVERNOR ABIODUN
Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt Hon (Prince) Olakunle Taiwo Oluomo on friday, commended the justices of the Supreme court for upholding the virtues of law, following the unanimous judgment of the Ogun State Governorship election by the apex court in Abuja.
Hon Oluomo made this known in a press release issued by AbdulGhaffar Adeleye, S.A to the Rt Hon Speaker, (Media & Publicity) , made it available to Newsmen in Abeokuta on Friday.
The Speaker recognized the diligence, undaunted thoroughness, and professionalism of the five-member bench, in interpreting the law.
According to him, “Despite the fact that Our party-the APC , won convincingly in the state, the judiciary has, by this judgement reaffirmed it legally”
Rt Hon Oluomo congratulated Governor Dapo Abiodun for his unhindered discharge of duties, despite the unwarranted legal battle by the opposition.
He noted that, ” Governor Dapo Abiodun’s victory at the polls and the courts were ordained by the Almighty God and this manifested in the results of the three courts”
The speaker believed, ” now that the opposition Candidate and his Political Party have lawfully exercised their rights by participating in the March 2023 general elections and the judicial process, which followed, to affirm Nigeria’s democratic credentials, the time is now for the opposition to support the current progressive administration in building a Gateway state of enviable standards.”
He urged the Governor’s challengers to inspire their supporters in the trust that the spirit of patriotism will, as usual, be elevated above partisan considerations, manifesting into support for the Government to improve the livelihood of the people.
The Speaker, assured that the state legislature which is made up of both parties, would not relent in ensuring that the present administration succeeds in his desire to uplift the livelihood of the good people of the state, through appropriate legislations.
He thanked the people of Ogun State for the mandate given to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Governor Dapo Abiodun to serve our State for a second term.
