Odeda LG boss, Semiu Bola Lawal Visits Opeji Kidnapped Victim, Sympathises with Family

The Chairman, Transition Committee of Odeda Local government of Ogun State,. Alhaji ,Hon. Semiu Bola Lawal has paid a sympathy visit to Mr. David Adebiyi who was abducted last week by yet to be identified kidnappers in Opeji area of Ogun State.
Observers see the visit as a welcome development.
Lawal assured that police will do everything humanly possible to bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to Justice.
The LG boss further charged the police and other security agencies in the state to intensify efforts to Ensure that the criminals were tracked down and be made to face the wrath of the law.
Speaking exclusively to Newsacoss at his Opeji residence on sunday evening, the victim said the gunmen pounced on him while repearing his tipper along sweet estate way.
He said the six-men gang blocked him, and forced out at gun point.
“I could not even identify the road the bandits were taking me through as i ordered to lie face down or else they would blow me up,” Mr Adebiyi said.
As they walked along, the abductors began making demands for ransom, to be paid in Naira, Mr. Adebiyi said.
“As the unpleasant journey was on, the bandits requested ransom, threatening that failure to offer the money would attract death,” “But I told them am a poor person and that I don’t have money.
He said his brother later paid Over N400,000 before he could be released..
The DPO of Bode Olude, in Odeda Local Government, DSP Durojaye Olurotimi urged the public to be patient, assuring that the criminals will be apprehended.
He said the command was deeply concerned about the plight of the people of Opeji , assuring that that command was working hard to record a breakthrough on the incident.
He urged members of the community to volunteer unsecured information that can help the police in recording a breakthrough on the incident.
Other personalities that followed the chairman are : Vice chair of the LG, Hon. Musiliu Akindele, Chairman of the ACDA, Alhaji (Asiwaju) Dapo Wahab and others.
