Mrs. Abiodun Receives Donation of Lifebuoy Soap from Unilever to Check #Covid-19 in Ogun

As part of measures to curb the spread of Covid- 19, otherwise known as corona virus in the state, Unilever Nigeria has donated 340 packets of lifebuoy soaps to the Office of the Wife of the Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun.

The 340 packets of soaps will be distributed across the 3 senatorial districts of the State to stem the spread of the disease among the citizenry with the aim of ensuring a clean hand wash.

The wife of the Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun who was represented by a Chest Physician from the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, OOUTH, Sagamu, Dr. Bolanle Adefuye said hand washing among other measures was key to abate the spread of the disease.

Mrs. Abiodun also highlighted other measures to include keeping social distance, not picking the mouth or nostrils, covering the mouth when coughing and sneezing into the elbows advising that the citizenry should strictly adhere to personal hygiene.

The Director, Corporate Affairs and Sustainable Business, Unilever Ghana and Nigeria, Mrs. Soromidayo George, who presented the donated soaps, said it was necessary to support the state in it’s efforts to curtail the spread of the disease and show care to the people.

She commended the state’s responsiveness to the pandemic and promised the company’s support at all times to the wellbeing of the citizens.
At the occasion, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker appreciated Unilever and it’s team for the support assuring them that the items brought would be put to effective use.
