Ipokia LG Legislators Praise Governor Abiodun for Appointing Dr. Taiwo as Chief of Staff
The Legislative Arm of Ipokia Local Government Area has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for elevating their son, Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo, as the substantive Chief of Staff. This commendation was made during a courtesy visit to the Office of the Chief of Staff, led by the Leader of the House, Hon. Akeem Adeyanju.
The legislators appreciated the governor for Dr Taiwo’s elevation, stating that it has restored the confidence of the people of the local government in the affairs of the State. They described Dr. Taiwo’s appointment as a significant morale booster and used the occasion to appeal for additional government appointments and opportunities for their local government. In a humorous tone, they compared themselves to Oliver Twist, seeking more opportunities.
In his remarks, the Chief of Staff, Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo, urged the legislators to conduct themselves with dignity and demonstrate competence in their duties. He called on them to promote peaceful coexistence, which would enhance the dividends of democracy at the grassroots. Dr. Taiwo assured them that their requests would be communicated to the governor, noting that similar appeals had been received from other parts of the state.
This development comes after Dr Taiwo was appointed Chief of Staff, which was announced by Governor Abiodun.¹ Before this appointment, Dr Taiwo served as the Deputy Chief of Staff and Commissioner for Culture and Tourism during Governor Abiodun’s first term. The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, has also commended Dr. Taiwo’s elevation, praising his exceptional leadership qualities, administrative expertise, and commitment to public service.²
