Ileya Celebration: Ogun First Lady, Mrs. Abiodun Takes Celebration to Yewa South

Children in Ogun state have been advised to be exemplary in their dealings and conducts as they continue their vacation and maintain same at resumption of school in September bearing in mind their role as future leaders.

This advice came from the First Lady and wife of the Ogun state governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun at the 2022 Ileya Kiddies Party organised by her office and pet project, Ajose Foundation for Muslim children in Yewa South Local Government Area, held at Palace Garden of the Paramount Ruler of Yewa Land in Ilaro.
Mrs. Abiodun who was represented by her SA, Mrs. Sade Ogundairo, admonished the children to concentrate on their studies, be of good behavior and be thankful to their parents for their sacrifice and love for them.
She stated “Today, I want to remind you how important your education is. Education will take you very far in life. Whether you want to be a doctor, lawyer, astronaut, or computer engineer, you can only get there through education. So, make sure you study hard to make us all proud.”
“Children, let us never forget to be thankful to our parents for their love and sacrifices, as they work everyday to put food on the table and send us to school. When we thank them, we are saying we appreciate what they have done for us.” She added ”
The First Lady expressed her satisfaction at the performance of the children at the competitions and the various educative games they engaged in during the celebration.
Member of the Ogun state House of Assembly representing Yewa South Constituency, Hon. Latifat Ajayi in her goodwill message advised the children to be well behaved and remember to always be good ambassadors of the state anywhere they found themselves.
Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewa Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle represented by the Iya Ewe of Ilaro, Chief Mrs. Oloyo in his goodwill message appreciated the First Lady for her love for children and for celebrating with the Children of the local government.
He enjoined the children to be of good character and be exemplary in all they do for their parents and the state at large to be proud of them.
Earlier in his welcome address, Chairman Yewa South Local Government, Hon. Salami Adebayo said, the significance of the Eid Kabir celebration was total obedience and sacrifice to Allah which would in turn afford a believer the mercy and blessings of God.
He encouraged the children to keep the tenets of Islam as they grow up and always remember that they must be ready to sacrifice their good deeds, time and commitment to God and humanity.
The celebration featured quiz competitions, games and other side attractions among others with distribution of gifts to the children.
Other dignitaries at the event include, Chief Mrs. Iyabo Apampa, Chief Imam of Ilaro, Alhaji Tajudeen Adewunmi, Yewa South Local Government Officials and Sisi Ilaro among others.
