Ifo LG Chairman Partners Bristlecone THP to Launch Electric Tricycles, Boosts Green Transport
In a bid to promote sustainable transport, reduce unemployment, and stimulate economic growth, the Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Hon. Idris Olalekan Kusimo, has partnered with Bristlecone THP to introduce electric tricycles for riders in the council area.
The initiative, unveiled on Tuesday at the Local Government Secretariat, aims to lower operational costs for riders, provide eco-friendly mobility, and create job opportunities. Hon. Kusimo praised the collaboration, stressing its alignment with his administration’s commitment to innovation and improved living standards for residents.
Representing the Ogun State Commissioner for Transport, Mr Babatunde Omisakin commended the initiative, noting that it supports Governor Dapo Abiodun’s vision for affordable and efficient transportation.
Dr Habeeb Danmole of Bristlecone THP highlighted the advantages of electric tricycles over petrol-powered models, citing reduced fuel dependency, lower maintenance costs, and environmental benefits. Miss Titilayo Arachi, a product research analyst, provided details on the tricycles’ operations.
Security concerns were addressed by ACP Olabisi Kamor, the Divisional Police Officer, who assured riders of enhanced safety through built-in tracking devices to deter theft.
The event was attended by top officials, including the Vice Chairman, legislative leaders, and representatives of tricycle riders’ associations. The first fleet of electric tricycles is set to launch soon, marking a major step toward greener transport and economic empowerment in Ifo.
