COVID-19: FG Donates Relief Materials To Ogun Govt

The Federal Government has donated relief materials to Ogun State government to cushion the effect of the lockdown order on the residents.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajia Sadiya Umar Farouq, made the donation of the relief materials, including rice and other food condiments, on behalf of the Federal Government to Governor Dapo Abiodun at the government House, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, on Friday.
According to the State Governor, the relief materials are for further distribution to the less privileged, including the poor, vulnerable and elderly. This, he said, is necessary so that the people who are most likely to be affected both by the virus and the attendant lockdown are given the support they need.
The Honourable Minister promised to expedite the process of the Federal Government’s conditional cash transfer to the less privileged within the State.
The meeting availed the chance to further identify ways for the State to key into other social intervention schemes of the Federal Government, especially during the lockdown.
