No Member Of COVID-19 PTF Has Received Any Money As Sitting Allowance- Lai

LAGOS- Lai Mohammed, minister for information and culture has refuted allegation making the rounds that members of the COVID-19 Presidential Task Force (PTF) receives N500,000 as sitting allowance.
The minister said that when the fake news was circulating and some people put calls across to him, asking to confirm the veracity that each member of the taskforce was receiving N500,000 as sitting allowance. He maintained that it was unbelievable for people to carry out such unfounded rumour.
“When I got the news, I quickly called some members of the taskforce to inquire if there was anything like that. In fact I was shocked because I was thinking if I was not a member of the taskforce.”
“The truth is that no member of the presidential taskforce has received any kobo as sitting allowance. We are using our energy and time to do this work and I must say that it is one of those fake news, because there is nothing like that” he said.
While responding to questions from journalists on Wednesday during the briefing of the taskforce, Lai Mohammed maintained that it was one of those evils from fake news and that Nigerians should disregard the fake news.
