BREAKING: Super Falcons’ Head Coach Randy Waldrum Resigns

In a shocking move, Randy Waldrum, the Head Coach of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, has tendered his resignation to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). Waldrum, who led the team to their first Olympics qualification in 16 years, cited his wife’s health issues as the reason for his decision.

According to sources, Waldrum’s resignation letter stated: “It’s been a very difficult few weeks following the Olympics with my wife’s health issues and the worries that come with that. After much thought and consideration, I am hereby resigning my position as Head Coach of the Super Falcons.”

Waldrum’s departure comes as a blow to the team and Nigerian football fans, who praised his dedication and commitment to the team. During his tenure, he built a formidable squad, blending homegrown and foreign-based players, and led the team to a historic performance at the 2023 World Cup.

Notably, Waldrum’s salary was a modest $10,000 per month, and he often went unpaid for several months, demonstrating his genuine love and commitment to the team.

The NFF will now begin the search for a new head coach to take over the reins of the Super Falcons. Waldrum’s legacy and impact on Nigerian women’s football will be deeply missed.
