BREAKING: Team Ogun Shines at 8th National Youth Games, Bags 20 Medals

Team Ogun has made a stunning impact at the ongoing 8th National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State, raking in an impressive 20 medals as of September 16th.

The team’s medal haul includes 5 Gold, 6 Silver, and 9 Bronze medals, with notable successes in Shooting, Golf, Scrabble, and Badminton.

In a historic feat, Team Ogun secured its first-ever medal in Para Table Tennis, setting the tone for a remarkable campaign.

Shooting sensation Onabiyi Atinuke Imoleayo shattered a national record in the Female 10m Air Rifle event, leading Team Ogun’s shooters to claim 3 Gold, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze. The outstanding performance earned them an invitation to the national team from the Nigeria Shooting Sports Federation (NSSF).

Other notable achievements include:

– Silver medal in Golf
– Bronze medal in Scrabble
– Badminton players advance to quarterfinals

Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration has been instrumental in supporting Ogun State’s grassroots sports development initiatives, providing a platform for young athletes to thrive.
