Breaking: Sagamu APC Submits Alowonle, 2 Other Aspirants for Local Government Chairman
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sagamu Local Government has officially submitted Hon. Nurudeen Aina Alowonle and two other shortlisted aspirants for the position of Local Government Chairman ahead of the upcoming council elections in November.
Following a highly competitive process that saw over 21 aspirants from the 15 Wards of the local government express interest.
After extensive deliberations, the APC leaders finalized the following three names for consideration:
1. * Hon. Tola Olutayo (Belgium)
2. *Hon. Nurudeen Aina Alowonle
3. * Engr Kashimawo Taofeek* (Kash)
This phase of the selection process has been lauded as one of the most peaceful and orderly political runs in recent history for the premier local government.
According to sources close to the local government leaders, the endorsement was made at a meeting convened by the LGA leadership, where the trio emerged as the preferred choice to fly the party’s flag in the forthcoming elections.
The list of endorsed candidates was signed by prominent party leaders, including Chief Adedoyin Adeleke, Senatorial Chairman, PA Olaleye Rafiu, APC Party chairman, Sagamu, Hon. Ola Oresanya, Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Hon Funmilayo Efuape, Commissioner for Special duty, Alhaji Daud Olokun, Member GAC, Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga, Mhr
As anticipation builds, all eyes are now on His Excellency, Governor Dapo Abiodun, and the APC leadership to make the final decision on who will represent the party in the forthcoming council elections.
The outcome is expected to set the tone for a highly competitive general election race, as the chosen candidate will lead the APC’s charge in the November council polls.
