APM Chairman Arrested Over Alleged Involvement In Kidnapping Of Kogi Lecturer

The National Chairman of Allied People’s Movement, APM, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, has been arrested by the Joint Security Task Force in Kogi State over an alleged involvement in kidnapping of Prof. James Alabi, a lecturer at Kogi State University, Ayingba.

It was reported that Dantalle who double as the General Secretary of the Inter Party Advisory Council, was arrested on Monday around 4:30am after the Joint Security Task Force invaded his house in Ayingba area of the state.
It was further learnt that Dantalle’s arrest was in connection to the latest kidnapping of Prof. James Alabi, a lecturer at Kogi State University, Ayingba.

A top source who spoke with our correspondent revealed that the Joint Security Task Force stormed Dantalle’s residence after one of the arrested kidnappers of the lecturer indicted him as their sponsor.
Recall that the Kogi state Police had last week confirmed the release of Prof. Alabi after six days in kidnappers’ den.
It was however gathered that the Joint Security Task Force embarked on hot search of the kidnapers immediately the lecturer regain freedom.

Findings revealed that the kidnappers who were later arrested last week Sunday revealed that the APM chairman is their godfather.

The source told our correspondent that Dantalle opened fire on the Joint Security Task Force when they invaded his house.
The source added, “while investigation was going led to the arrest of some of the kidnappers. One of the arrested kidnappers mentioned Dantalle as one of their sponsors. The arrested kidnapper led the soldiers to his house in Ayingba, Kogi state.

“When the soldiers, on sighting them, he opened fire, but the soldiers were able to overpower him. When he was arrested, it was discovered that the weapons he used, has no license for them.
“He has been taken to the Military Barrack in Lokoja. But attempt are ongoing to kill the matter”, the source concluded.
