The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ogun state and an Alumni of Abeokuta Grammar School, Hon. Afeez Balogun, on Friday 4th September commisioned Two Sanitizing Booths.
Abeokuta Grammar School becomes the first Public school to have this set of machines in Ogun state and one of the few schools in Nigeria. This machines became a necessity due to the Corona Virus Pandemic. Recall that the federal Government just approved the resumption of schools.
In his Remarks, Balogun stated that ” this gesture is a way of giving back to kids Alma matte. I was made to understand that this machines are electrically powered and there’s need for an alternative incase there is no light. I am going to add a solar power solution to help power this machine during power outages.”
The Principal General, Mrs Bolujoko who alongside the Principal Mr Sobukola received the guests thanked the Donor for this laudable project, Mrs Bolujoko however emphasised how people like him have helped to maintain and keep the school in good shape and she showered prayers and also encouraged him to keep it up.”
However the Principal Mr Sorinola also took his turn to address the Guest. In his Remarks ” I wish I can quantify how happy I’m today. Hon. Balogun you have just shown the whole world that you are a good product of Abeokuta Grammar school. You have proven that you didn’t forget where you came from and I pray that God never forgets you.” The Representatives of the Students and Teachers also took turns to appreciate Hon Balogun.
Furthermore, Hon. Balogun also had an assessment round the school to catch old time memories and see the developments. He also took out time to have an interactive session with few students to encourage them, to be focused as it is a matter of time for them to find themselves in great places.
